ProcurePro has raised $11 million (€10.1 million) to deliver AI-powered procurement control for the construction industry's $13 trillion (€12 trillion) global supply chain. The funding supports expansion of the company's procurement technology platform addressing cost management, compliance and supply chain visibility challenges across construction projects.

PR Newswire reported that ProcurePro's AI platform provides construction companies with automated procurement workflows, spend analytics, supplier management and budget control tools. The technology addresses procurement inefficiencies contributing to cost overruns and delays across construction projects globally.

The construction industry faces procurement challenges including fragmented supply chains, manual purchasing processes, limited spend visibility and weak supplier compliance. ProcurePro's platform uses artificial intelligence to automate purchase order processing, match invoices to contracts, identify cost-saving opportunities and flag non-compliant purchasing activities.

The $11 million funding round enables ProcurePro to expand its customer base, enhance AI capabilities and develop integrations with construction management software, enterprise resource planning systems and accounting platforms. The company targets general contractors, subcontractors and construction materials suppliers seeking to professionalise procurement operations.

AI applications in construction procurement include predictive analytics for material price forecasting, supplier risk assessment, automated purchase requisition approvals and anomaly detection identifying duplicate payments or unauthorised purchases. Machine learning algorithms analyse historical procurement data to generate recommendations improving purchasing efficiency and cost management.

The $13 trillion construction supply chain encompasses materials, equipment, subcontracted services and professional fees across residential, commercial, infrastructure and industrial projects worldwide. Procurement represents 60-70 per cent of construction project costs, making purchasing efficiency critical to project profitability and delivery success.

ProcurePro competes with established construction software providers and procurement technology specialists targeting the fragmented construction industry. The funding positions the company to accelerate market penetration whilst developing additional AI features supporting construction procurement optimisation.
