Integral Federal joins national procurement SHIELD contract

Integral Federal, a U.S.-based digital transformation and systems engineering provider, has been selected for the Missile Defense Agency’s 10-year, $151 billion (€128.35bn) SHIELD multiple-award contract, a national procurement initiative to support advanced defence systems and agile capability delivery.

The SHIELD contract, issued by the U.S. Missile Defense Agency (MDA), allows rapid competition for task orders across air, missile, space, cyber, and hybrid threat systems. Integral Federal joins 1,014 companies in the first tranche of indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity awards established in December 2025.

The SHIELD IDIQ contract is structured to accelerate acquisition and sustainment of capabilities through artificial intelligence, machine learning, digital engineering, open systems architecture, model-based systems engineering, and agile processes. Integral Federal will provide systems engineering support, including coordination of testing, integration, and experimentation of advanced avionics systems.

The contract follows a request for proposals issued in September 2025. Through the SHIELD vehicle, MDA aims to maintain continuous, layered protection while fostering innovation in defence operations. Integral Federal’s role will support task orders in engineering, program management, and technology integration.
