Foodbuy Group launches ProcurED procurement division for UK education sector

Foodbuy Group, the purchasing organisation of Compass Group based in the United Kingdom, has launched ProcurED, a dedicated procurement division serving the education sector. The new division provides nurseries, schools, colleges and universities operating in-house catering services with access to Foodbuy Group's £2.5 billion-plus buying power and procurement infrastructure.

Facilitate Magazine reported that ProcurED offers multi-category procurement solutions designed to help education organisations manage budget pressures whilst maintaining standards across food, beverages, equipment and services. The division extends Foodbuy's expertise beyond its existing support for Compass Group UK & Ireland and over 15,000 independent customers nationally.

ProcurED's service model integrates sector-specific knowledge with procurement systems including central billing, integrated ordering platforms, and allergen and nutrition reporting. Beyond food procurement, the division supports facilities management, operational supplies and equipment purchasing for educational institutions.

The procurement support structure covers five core areas: buying power backed by education expertise, nationwide reach with local supplier connections, administrative systems for order visibility and nutritional compliance, culinary support for menu planning and training, and responsible sourcing practices across the supply chain.
