Enabled Intelligence awarded $708 million NGA contract for AI data labelling
AI startup Enabled Intelligence, founded in 2020 in the United States, has been awarded an IDIQ contract worth up to $708.3 million (€610.8m) by the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) to provide data labelling services across federal agencies.
The seven-year “SEQUOIA” contract, awarded in September but announced recently, represents the largest NGA data labelling agreement to date.
The contract allows the NGA, the Department of Defense, and the wider intelligence community to apply Enabled Intelligence’s computer vision algorithms for tasks including object detection, tracking, classification, and pattern recognition.
In addition, the startup will support natural language processing and AI/machine learning modelling for business process automation within the GEOINT mission.
Enabled Intelligence uses AI to transform raw, unstructured data into actionable insights and models. The firm will integrate its technology with partners such as BAE Systems, Vantor (formerly Maxar Intelligence), and Whiteboard Federal to ensure intelligence decision-makers have real-time, accurate information to act on.
The scale of modern geospatial data has made manual analysis increasingly impractical. The NGA is leveraging AI to automate these processes, allowing faster detection of changes in conflict zones, threats, and infrastructure developments. Analysts note the contract will significantly enhance the government’s ability to process intelligence data efficiently and securely.
“This is the largest NGA data labelling contract to date,” the company said, reflecting its role in advancing AI-enabled intelligence capabilities. Enabled Intelligence will deliver integrated services across multiple federal systems, supporting operational readiness and analytical precision in national procurement for technology-driven intelligence infrastructure.
