Industry NewsEgis secures TfL framework role to support procurement delivery
Egis in the UK and Ireland has secured a position on Transport for London’s (TfL) Professional Services Framework, providing programme and project management support across future transport infrastructure initiatives under a multi-year agreement.
The appointment gives Egis the opportunity to support projects across TfL’s transport portfolio, including London Underground, London Overground, the Docklands Light Railway (DLR), bus services and wider urban infrastructure programmes. The work will be delivered through the framework’s Programme and Project Management Lot and is intended to support schemes from early planning through to implementation.
According to the announcement, Egis will contribute programme management expertise throughout the project lifecycle, including business case development, commercial advisory services and delivery support. Delivery-stage activity is expected to be undertaken through a joint venture arrangement with a UK-based SME specialising in programme management services.
A significant procurement dimension forms part of the appointment. Egis is expected to provide specialist commercial and procurement support across TfL operations, covering early market engagement, supplier engagement activities, procurement strategy development, tender evaluation, negotiation and contract award processes.
From a procurement perspective, the announcement highlights the increasing emphasis being placed on commercial capability within public infrastructure delivery. Large transport programmes are becoming more dependent on structured procurement planning, supplier engagement and governance mechanisms to improve delivery certainty and manage long-term project complexity.
TfL’s business planning pipeline includes multiple infrastructure programmes expected to require strong programme controls and commercial oversight in the coming years. Framework-based procurement models continue to play an important role in helping public authorities access specialist expertise while maintaining delivery flexibility across large portfolios.
For Egis, the appointment builds on previous transport infrastructure activity in the UK market and supports its continued expansion across metro and urban mobility programmes.
