Department of Transport shortlisted for two categories at National Procurement Awards 2025

Recognised in the 2025 awards programme, the Department of Transport has been named as a finalist in two categories at the National Procurement Awards 2025, shortlisted for Best Procurement Transformation Award and Best Public Sector, Semi State or Government Procurement Project of the Year.

The dual nomination recognises the Department's strategic approach to procurement modernisation, centred on centralising processes, improving governance structures, and enhancing value for money across operations. Guided by core values of public service ethos, ambition, collaboration, and quality delivery, the Department achieved significant improvements in procurement efficiency and strategic impact.

The Best Procurement Transformation Award shortlisting reflects the Department's enterprise-wide transformation project, which delivered measurable improvements through strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and innovative procurement practices. The initiative repositioned procurement as a strategic function capable of supporting policy objectives while maintaining fiscal discipline and operational control.

Meanwhile, Best Public Sector, Semi State or Government Procurement Project of the Year nomination recognises the Department's Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) Software project, an innovative solution delivered in collaboration with internal colleagues and the Central Shared Services Office (CSSO).
