Delayed delivery raises procurement questions over long-awaited health centre

Years of planning have yet to yield results for the Abbeyfeale Primary Care Centre, with the HSE still in the pre-tender review phase nearly a year after an expression of interest was issued. Despite identifying potential bidders and proposed sites, vague project details and prolonged timelines raise concerns about procurement efficiency and long-term planning. 

The centre, intended to consolidate dispersed health services under one roof, remains stalled pending a final service and staffing review. The project will follow the Operational Lease Model, but critical issues, such as site clarity, capacity planning, and stakeholder communication, remain unresolved.
