Industry NewsAmazon Business expands same-day grocery procurement across the US
US e-commerce platform Amazon Business has expanded same-day fresh grocery delivery capabilities for enterprise customers across more than 2,300 cities and towns in the United States. The move broadens procurement options for businesses seeking consolidated purchasing and faster fulfilment across workplace supplies and food services.
MSN reported that Amazon Business customers can now order thousands of perishable grocery products, including dairy, produce, baked goods and frozen food, alongside office and operational supplies through a single checkout process. The service is designed for workplaces including offices, schools, gyms and salons managing recurring food and breakroom procurement needs.
Shelley Salomon, vice president of Amazon Business, said: “We’re continuously innovating to make business buying simpler, faster, and more cost-effective for our customers.”
She added: “By adding fresh groceries to the already expansive selection Amazon Business offers, organisations can now combine items like copy paper and printer ink with milk, fruit, and other breakroom staples.”
Amazon said the service leverages its temperature-controlled fulfilment infrastructure and includes six-point quality checks for perishable products before delivery. Business customers can also select delivery windows aligned with operational hours to support handling and storage requirements.
The company said Business Prime members receive free same-day delivery on qualifying grocery orders above US$25 (€22), while non-members can access the service through a flat delivery fee. Amazon Business plans to expand the grocery delivery service into additional markets through 2026.
Amazon Business currently serves more than eight million organisations globally and reported over US$35bn (€31bn) in annualised gross sales across procurement categories including office, IT, janitorial and food service supplies.
